Whites Creek gets a buzz from new community grant

The Friends of Whites Creek Valley Park have scored council funding to revitalise the local food forest, run hands-on community workshops, install a native beehive and create a new public map of the area. (link)

What the Inner West rezoning plan means for Annandale

Inner West Council’s controversial “Our Fairer Future” housing strategy passed by just one vote and while the tall-tower headlines focus on Dulwich Hill and Marrickville, the ripple effects reach Annandale too. Some residents are concerned about parking pressure and heritage streetscapes, while others welcome more affordable homes close to the city. (link)

In Case You Missed It: Annandale traffic safety plan still worth a look

The Inner West Council’s Stage 2 draft Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) plan for Annandale might have closed for feedback, but it is still worth reviewing if you missed it. Covering the area from City West Link to Johnston’s Creek, including Booth Street, Wigram Road and The Crescent, it proposes new speed humps, safer crossings, and tweaks to local traffic flow. Locals warn: skip the fake cobwebs this Halloween

Some Annandale locals are urging neighbours not to use fake spider webs. A post on the Annandale 2038 Facebook group showed a bird caught in the synthetic webbing, a reminder that the decorations can harm wildlife.
The post has prompted a friendly push for more wildlife-safe decorating ideas, with neighbours suggesting alternatives like pumpkins, lanterns, and reusable cloth.

Suspicious mince found on Collins Street

A post on the Annandale 2038 Facebook group has dog owners on alert after raw mince was found near Collins Street on Saturday 5 October. The resident who discovered it said crows were eating it before they managed to clear it away, raising fears it might have been poisoned. It is unclear whether it was deliberate or dumped by accident, but locals are urging pet owners to stay watchful and keep dogs on leads around the area just in case.
